Charity Efficiency based on CCRA Tax Returns for Year

The
week of Nov 11, 2002 the Toronto Star ran a series on Charities |
|
and
their efficiency in getting donation into charitable work. There are |
|
growing
concerns that so called fund raising companies are taking |
|
a
major share of contributions. The Star
used Govt of Canada CCRA (tax) |
|
annual
reports to determine the % of money that actually went to charitable |
|
|
Good works. Some of the figures below are from the |
|
|
Star
article and others are taken directly from the CCRA web site. |
|
The
particular charities below are listed only because they were either |
|
|
mentioned
by the Star or are charities which I have donated to |
|
|
in
the past or are charities that have solicited donations here. |
